Mission: End veteran suicide and more specifically, provide veterans, service members and their families resources aimed at positively impacting their mental health.

ABOUT THE MINOT CHAPTER

The latest statistics show that as many as 17 veterans die by suicide daily and rural suicides have increased by 48% from 2000-2018 in areas like Minot and the surrounding communities. Our rural veterans face challenges such as lack of access to health care and behavioral health providers, isolation, and the stigma of seeking out support.

Together with Veterans – Minot Chapter is a nonprofit organization created to provide help to our veterans. Our organization is focused on honoring and serving veterans, active-duty military, and their families by building a coalition of concerned organizations and personnel dedicated to the detection of veteran mental health issues and the prevention of suicide. We work in cooperation with local agencies to create programming that is needed and that does not exist in our community.

TWV – Minot is using many methods to connect with this group of people to help them find a sense of purpose and a sense of community. We use formal and informal methods of peer-to-peer support and innovative technology to proactively focus on mental wellness and combating isolation.

Nationally, Together With Veterans (TWV) is a community-based suicide prevention program for rural Veterans. TWV involves partnering with rural Veterans and their communities to implement community-based suicide prevention. TWV is funded by the Veterans Administration Office of Rural Health.
